Manyane Resort stands on the edge of the Pilanesberg National Park near Sun City Resort. This Big Five game reserve is located in the North West Province, just 2 hours by car from Johannesburg and 20 minutes from the fabulous entertainment facilities at Sun City Resort.
This outstanding game reserve has magnificent topography creating a real feast for the eye. It stands high above the surroundings with unique geological features. The rare rock types and structures have been carved by wind and water over some 1300 million years. The landscapes are characterised by syenite koppies, thickly forested ravines, typical bushveld, also rolling grasslands and lightly wooded areas.
Guests on explorations of Pilanesberg National Park near Sun City Resort will see the lake at the centre and just off to one side is Thabayadiotso, “The Proud Mountain”. The park covers 580km (360 miles) and hosts sought after Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard and many other equally fascinating animals, some rare and endangered.
Directions From OR Tambo Airport
As you leave the airport take the road to Pretoria - R21. As you near Pretoria take the N1 North to Polokwane. Now look out for and take the N4 West to Rustenburg. On this section of the road you will pass two toll gates. Pass the turnoffs to Hartebeespoort, Brits and Randburg. Now look out for the next turnoff to Sun City Resort, Bapong, Majakaneng - R556. TAKE THIS TURN – DO NOT PROCEED TO RUSTENBURG
From Sandton travel north along William Nicol Drive to the four-way intersection with Witkoppen Road. Turn left into Witkoppen Road towards Lanseria / Roodepoort. Turn right at the intersection with Hans Strijdom Extension on the road towards Broederstroom and Lanseria – R512. Cross the bridge over the R28 Krugersdorp / Pretoria highway, pass the Lanseria turnoff and continue straight. At the T-junction take the turn left on the R512 to Magaliesberg / Brits Continue on this road until you see the Sun City Resort sign board on your left. Turn right onto the R512 to Brits and cross the bridge over Hartebeespoort Dam.
At the next T-junction turn right on the R512 to Brits. Follow the directional signs. At the 4-way stop turn left to Rustenburg / Sun City Resort. At the signpost R27 Rustenburg / Brits turn right. On the bridge turn left towards Rustenburg. Continue to the slipway on the left, take slipway and continue on the N4 highway. Now look out for the next turnoff to Sun City Resort, Bapong, Majakaneng – R556. TAKE THIS TURN – DO NOT PROCEED TO RUSTENBURG
At the top of the off ramp turn right to Sun City Resort / Bapong. At the fourth 4-way stop turn right on the R510 (25km / 16 miles) to Mogwase. Turn left at the sign posted Pilanesberg National Park. At the second 4-way stop turn right to the Manyane Gate.
