Manyane Resort has a self-guided walking trail which offers environmental education as well as game viewing and bird watching. Also at the resort is a walk-in aviary with over 80 species of indigenous birds. Birding enthusiasts can venture into Pilanesberg National Park where there are over 300 species to be seen.
Guests at Manyane can enjoy a Big Five safari near Sun City Resort in the National Park and see a huge variety of wildlife and fascinating scenery around an extinct volcano.
The Pilanesberg exists within a transition zone between the dry Kalahari and wetter Lowveld regions, commonly referred to as bushveld. Unique overlaps of mammals, birds and vegetation occur because of this transition area.

Visitors are offered many opportunities for game viewing with guided game drives (at extra cost) conducted by professional rangers. Self-drive guests can follow nearly 200km (124 miles) of excellent roads in Pilanesberg National Park. Various hides and scenic picnic sites enable visitors to get out the car and relax in nature.
