Sun City Game Viewing Activities
The Sun City Resort is situated on the edge of the Pilanesberg National Park and guests can go on guided game drives into the Park to see the wildlife. However, there are lots of animal attractions located within the resort. The Cascades Garden has many aviaries where guests can see beautiful indigenous and exotic bird species.
Guests can watch birds of prey such as vultures being fed daily at the Birds of Prey Centre. Guests can go on a tour of the Kwena Gardens Crocodile Sanctuary, which is situated at the entrance to Sun City Resort. The best time to go is in the late afternoon, which is when the Crocodiles get fed.
A visit to the Butterfly World is also a great way to spend an afternoon. Guests can see many different species of butterflies there.
One of the most memorable ways to see the reserve is from the air while on a scenic hot-air balloon flight at dawn. This is followed by a delicious champagne breakfast.
Game activities on surrounding game farms
The Pilanesberg National Park covers an area of 55 000 hectares and has a circular shape which encompasses an ancient volcanic crater. The landscape is wonderfully scenic, with a lake in the centre of the extinct volcano, which is surrounded by mountains.
The park lies in a transition area between the Kalahari and the Lowveld ecosystems, and both kinds of vegetation are present. Sun City Resort guests are collected from the resort for excursions into the Park, which is a short drive away and returned again at the end of the activity.
Guests will have the opportunity to see the prolific wildlife of the region, including the Big Five - Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Rhino (white and black) and even the reclusive Leopard. Other animals guests could see include Zebra, Hyena, Giraffe, Hippo and Crocodile. There are day and night drives on offer.

Hot-air Balloon flights (approx. 4 hours)
The flight takes about 60 minutes, and is followed by champagne and a full breakfast. The magnificent scenery and wildlife of malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park can be viewed from the air on a fantastic hot balloon ride. This experience is not to be missed - it is a truly memorable way to spot game and soar over the beautiful volcanic landscape.

Day and night drives available. Private vehicles for groups can be arranged. Guests can go on guided game drives into the Pilanesberg National Park. They will be picked up at their hotel by a knowledgeable guide who will help you track down the regions abundant wildlife, such as the Big Five.
