The Sun City Resort is situated on the edge of the Pilanesberg National Park and guests can go on guided game drives into the Park to see the wildlife. However, there are lots of animal attractions located within the resort. The Cascades Garden has many aviaries where guests can see beautiful indigenous and exotic bird species.

The Pilanesberg National Park covers an area of 55 000 hectares and has a circular shape which encompasses an ancient volcanic crater. The landscape is wonderfully scenic, with a lake in the centre of the extinct volcano, which is surrounded by mountains.
The park lies in a transition area between the Kalahari and the Lowveld ecosystems, and both kinds of vegetation are present. Sun City Resort guests are collected from the resort for excursions into the Park, which is a short drive away and returned again at the end of the activity.
